Grand palace Bangkok

My partner Fifita and I have been searching up the Grand palace of Bangkok. We both learned a lot about this landmark. What I found surprising was that they first built the palace entirely out of wood, then later got bit and parts from a destroyed city. This place is really interesting to learn about. I hope you enjoy reading this.

Choosing the NZ flag

Image result for nz old flag        Image result for nz flag

LI: To make an informal choice
Today we were making decisions about these two flags, if we wanted to change it or leave it. It was a really tough choice for me because I know that in WW1 all the soldiers wore the flag on their uniform and it would be disrespectful if we changed it. But, others wanted to change it because it looks too similar to the Australian one, and we have already paid for it, no why waste the money. One of my reasons why we should change the flag because it is a new generation, also, really cool. That is just my opinion. But I would like it to stay the same.

Maths games #4

This week I have done one of my maths games off the task board. This game was called " Place Value quiz". Like all the other place value games I have played, this one is different because it asks you about units (units is the same thing as ones) This will help you if your really good with place value and want a challenge. My score above was when I did quiz B and A. The one I found hard was quiz C, I got one question wrong. Give this a try and click here.

Great Mosque of Herat

This week we have searched about the Great Mosque of Herat. My partner was Sa Kae. We both learned a lot about this place, and I think you might too. Have a look and see if you learn something new.

It helps with your times tables from 1 to 10.  You are timed 1 minute to get as many answers to done as you can, but if you get some wrong, it will show at the end when you finish, how well you did with your multiplication. As you see I got 100% for my x6.

Word Study Challenge

This is one of my reading "can do's". This one I did is called the word study challenge. You pick 5 interesting words to research about. Then we find its meaning. Next we put a picture about the word next to the meaning. Later, we use the word in a sentence. Lastly we found synonyms for the word, and that's it. This helped me with my researching skills. Even for later on in life when your seeking a job.

Maths games: Place value

This is the game I played for my maths. Its called "beat the game". The first part of the game when you begin is when you have to try make a number greater than the computer's number. There are four rounds, and at the bottom of the screen there will be this orange bar with the numbers you made, if you list them from least to greatest, you get bonus points. Lastly, there's a part where you list the numbers in order. Finally you get your results as the final score. Leading your team

Our teacher gave all the year 8's a task. First we had to choose a buddy. The teacher gave us different places to travel with our buddy. The only tricky thing was one of us had to close our eyes while the other had to guide them. I had to guide Afu down the slide. We both had turns swapping around. This was suppose to help us to be a leader while also to trust your team and your team to trust you.

VINEGAR AND BAKING SODA

On Wednesday 2nd march 2016 we did a science experiment. We put a small cup in the bowl and filled it with a tablespoon of baking soda. Next we poured some malt vinegar in the cup, inside the bowl, and it bubbled and overflowed. But my hypothesis ( that means prediction ) was that it would explode and spill all over everybody, but I was wrong. We also did one with white vinegar, and that was WAY more fizzier and more bubbles. It even looked like sprite.

My TINKERCAD

This is my Tinkercad........thing. We were learning how to use this site and make cool different shapes and models, like moving, sizing, grouping, measuring, and lots of other stuff. The website we used is called Tinkercad.com where you can also make shapes and things too. This is a picture of what I made. It is a strange looking creature about to get hit by a big rock.
