Two weeks ago me and my partner Sa Kae were playing the Cyber Smart game. In this task we used one of the google draw items called "Voice typing". In the black writing is what we were suppose to say through the microphone, and in the red writing is the things that the microphone typed in according to what it heard. Also, in the highlighted sections are either misspelt words or words that weren't meant to be in the sentence
This blog is a record of my learning from Panmure Bridge Primary School through to Tamaki College.

Cyber Smart - shorcuts
Today we played that Cyber Smart game again and landed on this task. Our question me and my partner Sa Kae and I had to think about was "What are the shortcut keys for cut, copy and paste?" and "Why would you use copy instead of cut before pasting?". We were quite confused at what the second question was saying but the we figured it out later. Here is our work.

Cyber Smart: Being Safe
Today my friend Sa Kae and I watched this video on the Cyber Smart game. This video was about a girl who posted all these things about herself on her blog. But sadly most of the things that she posted online was going to lead her to danger. After we watched what happened my friend and I answered these questions with a YES or NO. If you would like to watch this video you can look here.

Cyber Smart: Task Card 3
Yesterday we were trying out this Cyber Smart game. On of our tasks that my partner Sa Kae and I landed on was this google drawing. It asked us a question which was "What are the three elements you need to include in a quality blog comment". As my friend and I were thinking we started typing our ideas down. This is what we came up with.

Cyber Searching Skills
Last week one of our inquiry tasks was using our cyber searching skills we learnt from Mrs. Oglivie, but searching about our own topic. The topic my partners and I chose was nectarines. Did you know that sometimes peach trees can grow nectarines and vice versa? Find out more inside my DLO.

Researching Tips
Last week we had a session with our teacher by the name of Mrs. Oglivie. She taught us how to research thing by no using full sentences like "Who was the best European football player in 2006?" because Google (or whatever you use) searches each word individually, and do you know how many times people type in the words "what" and "how". So, this slide might be for you. We had a lot of fun learning these skills and teaching them to the year 7's in our class.

Smart Searching Skills
Today the year 8's and I went over to our school library to have a lesson on smart searching skills with Mrs. Ogilivie. She gave us tips and tricks to help us with our researching, like for example using key words. Instead of typing in 'Who are the best netball players in Ireland?', type in this 'netball ireland players best'. It may not make sense but google searches up each word individually. Also, making all your words lowercase also brings more better websites. A while after we were shown how to do the C.R.A.P test on websites and how to use Kids InfoBits and Britannica School, I showed my buddy SaKae the two websites we were introduced. She learnt quite a bit and may use these websites for her homework.

Cyber Smart
This is my slide on how to be Cyber Smart. This task was for one of my care awards, it was called " Create a DLO on how to stand up to bullies, or how to be Cyber Smart." I picked this activity so it would help people everywhere who need more understanding about what could happen on social media with the help of this slide (and other cyber smart slides my class has made.) Hope this helps.
